Sage & Amethyst Botanical Soy Wax Candle: An Ode to Nevada’s High Sierra Mountains
I wanted to make a candle that honors my new home - the Sierra Nevadas - in the Reno/Tahoe area. Surrounded by majestic mountains that converge with wild desert, I am constantly in awe of the beauty here. Alpine lakes, pine trees, wild horses, high-desert sage, and amethyst mountains make the High Sierra a truly magical place to call home.
The Sage & Amethyst Botanical Candle has woody scents of cedar and pine, and floral notes of lavender.
This candle brings together the subtle smell of pine tree and cedar-lined mountains and the magical properties of amethyst. Each candle is made with symbolic elements of the High Sierra Mountains: organic sage and juniper (both abundant throughout the Sierra Nevadas), ethically wildcrafted cedar from the Reno/Tahoe area (hand foraged by me from the Sierra Nevada Mountains in my backyard), ethically sourced amethyst (Nevada has been known for its amethyst) and a custom essential oil blend of pine, cedar, lavender, and white sage essential oils.
Cedar is known for cultivating strength.
Sage aids in cleansing and grounding.
Juniper is valuable as an energy detox and stress-reducer.
Amethyst is a meditative and calming stone which works in the emotional, spiritual, and physical realm to promote calm, balance, and peace.
Each candle is lovingly poured by hand and made in small batches with 100% pure soy wax and organic hemp wicks. The candle itself is housed in a 9 oz. amber glass jar with a metal lid, that can be re-purposed after use.
All Natural + GMO Free + Vegan + Cruelty Free + Mostly Organic
HOW TO USE:
Ensure wick is about to ¼” before lighting.
I recommend burning candles for at least 2 hours at a time, but no more that 4 hours. Allow the melted wax pool to reach the side of the jars before extinguishing for a longer burning candle and to prevent tunneling.
Keep wick centered and free of any foreign materials including matches and wick trimmings.
Only burn on a level, fire resistant surface. Avoid drafts.
Never leave your candle burning unattended and keep out of reach of children and pets.
Candle jar may become hot after burning. Allow wax to harden before handling.
